What's New
The coaching legend continues to grow
By Paul O'Dacre
Huron Hockey’s Program Director, Dennis “Red” Gendron, continues to add laurels to an already outstanding coaching career.
Gendron will be inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame on Sunday April 1 at the Event Center at C.R. Sparks in Bedford, N.H..
Gendron has been an integral part of Championship
teams at every level of hockey where he has been
involved. He started at Berlin High School with
the New Hampshire State High School Championship
in 1975. Then Gendron went on to receive four
Vermont State titles as Head Coach at Bellows Free
Academy; an NCAA title as Assistant Coach at the
University
of Maine; three Stanley Cup Championships as a
member of the New Jersey Devils coaching and
scouting staff, and most recently, he led his University
of
Massachusetts Minutemen to the final Elite 8 of the
NCAA hockey championships.
In addition, Gendron was named the 2006 winner of
USA Hockey’s prestigious “Walter Yaciuk Award” for
coaching excellence. His best selling book,
Coaching
Hockey Successfully, is considered the ultimate
authority for the coaching fraternity.
You won’t find a more dedicated and sincere person than Red.
Huron students love him and so does the staff! We look forward to a great summer with Coach “Red.”
