The Dynamic Duo

Lori Dupuis and Jayna Hefford are set to run the Huron female programs this summer and who could ask for a better supporting staff. Girls you get a chance to experience the best of the Huron curriculum provided by two women who have enjoyed unparalleled success at their own game.

Jayna, fresh off her sixth World Championship where she fired the winning goal in the gold medal game is excited to work with Huron again this summer. “I love being able to work with young aspiring female players in an instructional setting and with Huron, Lori and I can adapt the curriculum to the girls game because we have a feel for what is important” states Hefford.

Lori’s history with Huron runs deeper than Jayna’s as she started as a young 10 year old player at the Cornwall camp participating with mainly boys when she first started. One of the true pioneers of the women’s game, Lori won Olympic Gold and Silver along with three World Championships. “Jayna and I truly enjoy working with girls and letting them know that you don’t have to be an Olympian to enjoy this great game of hockey. When I started out there was no Olympics and World Championships to participate in so I have watched the sport grow and feel I have been an important part of it” says Dupuis.

Combined, the two have three Olympic gold and two Silver medals along with ten World Championships. That is quite a statement from two Seaway Valley girls who continue to play the game at the highest level they can.
