Coach Markell is a native of Cornwall, Ontario where he began playing in the OHL with the Cornwall Royals. He went on to play college hockey for Bowling Green and started his professional career with the Winnipeg Jets. Coach Markell began his coaching career in Europe with the ESC Wolfsberg. He has been Head Coach of the Buckeyes since 1995 and has had great success turning the program into a well-respected force.
