Huron Hockey

Learn entire responsibilities of the forward position with concepts including defensive zone coverage, offensive attack, playing without the puck, face-offs and "skating to score". The program is complemented with video analysis and lecture sessions designed to teach forwards the proper "game" fundamentals.

Improve your game as you progress through the following curriculum components. Students are grouped by age and skill level.

Power Skating

  • Achieve balance and edge control
  • Increase acceleration, power and agility
  • Build leg speed and quickness

    Puck Skill Development

  • Develop puck control and stickhandling confidence
  • Strengthen passing and receiving skills
  • Master shot accuracy and shoot to score

    Game Situations & Techniques

  • Learn positional play and breakouts
  • Recognize offensive and defensive concepts: read and react, cycling, regroups, etc.

    Checking - Ages 10+

  • Understand board utilization and checking angles
  • Progress through Huron's "SIX Station" checking system

    Video Analysis & Lectures

  • Improve technique through bio-mechanical analysis of skating posture
  • Experience motivational and interactive classroom sessions
