Special Programs
Girls Hockey
In designated Huron locations we offer a Girls Only Program that is designed
for Girls by our staff who are familiar with the female game. We utilize
some of the Female game's finest instructional staff at selected Huron
locations this summer including Glen Ellyn Illinois, Traverse City Michigan,
Ottawa and Cornwall Ontario.
The female program is identical to the boys only the skill level of the
student is taken into consideration when offering these programs.
Girls you will have a chance to learn hockey the female way from Coaches
like St Lawrence University's Paul Flanagan or Lake Forrest College's Susie
Bellizzi plus a host of others.
3 on 3 Hockey
Residential students have an opportunity to end their day by participating
in a teaching 3 on 3 hockey game that is designed to leave you physically
exhausted but emotionally challenged.
The evening only session is designed
to be an up tempo game incorporating the days' lesson plan in order to
reinforce the teaching curriculum. What a great way to end the day but
students be aware, make sure you have something left in the tank before
adding this component on to your schedule.
Team Training Tournament
Columbus Blue Jackets Associate Coach, Newell Brown wanted to try something
different this summer and came up with this idea for training your very own
team in a special teaching format designed to challenge your skill level.
A total of 8 teams only will be selected to attend this very demanding
training camp. Brown who has enjoyed 24 years working with Huron students of
all ages and skill levels promises a very demanding program that will
complement teams heading into their respective seasons. This program is
extremely challenging and not for the player who doesn't want to expand his
skill set in a high intensity environment.
Everything is designed with an NHL teaching philosophy in mind so students bring your A game if you think
you have what it takes.
